Delighted with this versatile android phone and the preloaded apps. I considered the iPhone 5, which has a comparable screen size and the slightly larger but more expensive Samsung Galaxy s3. Email is great, as is web access, although some web sites really benefit from their specific Android app. The 8 Mp camera is good too and has a panoramic feature. It's really difficult to find anything negative to say about this phone, but perhaps the 2 day battery life is a little less than I expected, however, I'm using it like a small tablet so always checking something. In the mini-tablet role this phone really excels. 4.0 out of 5 stars Ticks most of the boxes, 1 Jan 2013

Bought Samsung Galaxy S II after comparing it with iphone 4s. I found it better than iphone 4s on all aspects. It has got good battery life too. Only point which Samsung need to improve is music quality. Waiting for Android version 4.1 (Jelly Bean) to be released for Galaxy S II. I don't need the latest and greatest when it comes to phones, so last year's top end phone has been perfect for me, especially since Samsung has been providing ICS (and now Jelly Bean) for the S2 alongside the S3. All I do is use apps, internet, listen to music, and watch the occasional YouTube video, so I don't need a quad-core processor and 4G, so I've been very happy with this phone, especially getting it SIM-free, in case I ever do want to jump ship from my current network... 0 of 1 people found the following review helpful

It's been over a year since I bought my GS2 sim-free phone. It's given trouble free use as a phone and it's also introduced me to the wonderful world of Android, resulting in my wife also buying an Android phone and then both of us buying Android tablets. The phone itself is still very good looking and has proven very durable. I normally use it with the Samsung Executive Leather Case for Galaxy S 2 - Black so the phone itself still looks like new despite some heavy use. I did fit screen protectors to begin with but very soon realised that they were a waste of time so went back to a bare screen - it is made of Gorilla-glass and mine is still completely scratch free.The camera and video recording have proven to be so good that I usually just take photographs with the GS2 if I only want snapshots, so my `proper' camera get used less than it used to. The fact that the mobile is always with me means I can take pictures or videos that I couldn't before, and the large screen means that it's fantastic for showing those pictures to everyone. The only drawback I've found with the phone has been its battery life, although that's no worse than any other smartphone I've seen. If I get two days usage from one charge then I'm doing well, so usually charge it every evening which leaves me with a comfortable level of spare charge when I get home the next day.
Overall I have to say that the Galaxy S2 has proven to be simple to use and is effective as an organiser, camera, internet browser, games machine etc and even works well as a phone!

There are a few better phones, but not at this price. It took me ages to decide what to get to supplement my work mobile, and I chose this after seeing my brother-in-law's and my sister's in action.Some things are not as good as the dedicated version of the device - e.g. the camera doesn't compare to a dedicated camera half the price, the sound is a bit inferior to a dedicated Walkman, it's obviously a small screen so browsing has to be limited, but the point is it's a phone which can do a lot of other things really well, and all in one small package.
For me, it gives me productivity and ease of use wherever I want it - install Evernote and I have the ideal way to keep work and home notes up to date on whatever laptop, desktop or phone I'm using. It's fun and easy to use to do so many things - and it makes really clear phone calls!

Does everything I need it to and a little smaller than S3Warning thoiugh does not like to get wet, bought this to replace one from network that got wet and died.
