The mobile phone is good, but it is inconvenient for me to set up my personal email. So I return it back.

Had this phone for over 9 months. I'm not going to deny it is great for social networking and apps such as BBM, but after a few months you will soon notice the downfall with Blackberry phones.

The battery is crap. You're lucky if it lasts more than a few hours even while on standby. After a few months it will also automatically restart itself and then drain itself from full charge to no charge so you can't access any apps or make any contact (which isn't great on nights out or in case of emergencies).

The scroller will stop working from time to time and jerk and freeze. So sometimes web browsing can be difficult especially when on a more complex web page.

The touch screen will work for no longer than an hour before your screen freezes and you have to operate the phone manually without the touch screen.

The top of the phone where you lock and unlock it when in use will break easily. Don't push it too hard because over time it will develop a crap and you will have problems using the phone.

From my experience with this Blackberry I will be switching to an iPhone or an Android phone as soon as possible because I was stupid enough to not listen to other people when they were complaining about the quality of these phones.

Its a shame that a potentially high quality and useful device socially could have so many downfalls.

Bought it for our daughter. She only misses the opportunity to download the same apps as for an iPhone. But she is happy with it now and loves the keyboard. Said to me last night that could'nt understand how she managed to write with her old Sony Experia.

Slim and bold keyboard
Beautiful design and really nice side buttons
Secure housing
Screen is touchscreen and nice responsive
Nice resolution
Fast browser
Takes photos so fast
Cons:
Screen is bit to small for touchscreen
Suffers from checker boarding but does load pretty fast
Battery is not as good
Overall:
Probably one of the best blackberrys but I think it is worth the buy and should try it out :)

The choice of new phones that are not touch screen is very limited. I have been a Nokia fan ever since mobiles were invented so to have to switch to another brand was tough. I have NOT regretted my switch to blackberry for one second. I love the keyboard and the touchscreen is spot on even though not used very often. The battery unfortunately lasts 24-36 hours depending on usage but this is not uncommon with smartphones. Call quality is good, camera very good and text and email also very good. I really dont have a bad word to say about my berry but am a bit concerned as what to do if it malfunctions within the 2 year warranty as there appears to be NO UK based warranty repairers??? Maybe Amazon will advise of a way ahead in this?

Had the 9790 for a few weeks now & have to say extremely impressed.

Formerly had the HTC Wildfire & wanted to upgrade to a higher quality handset, but wasn't prepared to pay the extortionate price for the iPhone; after looking at reams of reviews, eventually plumped for the Bold 9790 & very glad I did too.

I use the handset as an everyday phone (not heavy business use), a fair bit of texting with occasional web browsing & Facebook use & on average, I'd say I get 2 days between recharging (this recently included 4 days at a festival with poor reception, only needing 1 quick topup via the car charger).

Although it is a touchscreen, I hardly use it as such because the trackpad is excellent & once you get used to the keyboard, it's a breeze to send text messages, too (hint - if you get a leather flip case, it increases the size just enough to make one-thumb texting even easier)

Blackberry used to have a reputation as being difficult to set up, but this is certainly not the case here; didnt even need to look at the manual or quick start guide, it's that intuitive - all set up for contacts, e-mail within 10 minutes.

Sure you don't have access to the vast range of apps available for the iPhone, but ask yourself what you want the device for; as a great well priced phone with occasional access to the net, good camera (for a phone), good looks & durable, go for the 9790

Excellent phone, blackberry have delivered again. It is sleek, light weight, easy to use, and the touch screen is the cherry on the cake. I would recommend this mobile for business users due to the fast processor and great calender/alarms features.

I got my blackberry bold 9790 yesterday at an o2 shop. so far it is very pleasing. The camera is really good, and there is a shortcut button on the side of the phone to bring u straight to the camera. you can change the button so that it can lock ur phone or bring u to watever u want.
This is my 1st blackberry and i'm happy enough with it so far. The battery life isn't brilliant but does the job alright. :) i luv the way you can use touchscreen or the keypad. :) i'm on contract for £24 a month, so it's not that expensive. :) it's a gr8 phone, and a good one to start with be4 a iphone.
