I bought this iphone in May it went faulty in July Majordeal fixed it and sent it back it has gone faulty again and they would not do anything about it,so for £181 I have had about 4 and 1/2 months of use.The service was not good they said the 3 months warranty is up but considering I only had the phone for 8 weeks before it went faulty the first time ,I am really upset spending so much on an iphone only to last such a short period.

If you want an Ipod touch that takes phonecalls, on a high tariff, the iphone is pretty much unbeatable, but if your'e looking for a communication device, I think Blackberry and perhaps HTC are better value on a £ for £ basis and a phone that is less likely to let you down in an emergency.
But, do I regret buying it? No, because it's simplicity in software design is a wonder, and almost idiot proof.

I owned an iPhone for a short time when they were initially released on O2 and sold it as I felt let down on internet download speeds and one or two other niggly points. Having now obtained one via Orange all I can give it is the highest praise. Everything about it is faster, but the two that matter are jaw droppingly fast - namely web browsing and file transfers from your pc. Web browsing in wifi spots is almost broadband speed with certain more commonly used websites providing iPhone/mobile specific links that make the experience even faster. Syncing is even faster and uploading music and videos is done in under half the time of previous models. The battery life isn't the best though and quickly diminishes when using video intensive apps or viewing U Tube, Sky News, etc. Under normal usage I'd say you'ld get no more than two days from a full charge. I've purchased a spare charger to keep at work just in case.......One more very pleasing thing for me was that the EU volume limitations imposed on the iPod Touches (which annoyingly capped how loud we were allowed to listen to our music) don't seem to apply to the iPhone and listening to my music totally rocked - at a volume I chose. The built in speakers on the iPhone are also surprisingly loud and clear too.
Not much more to say really other than it's the most awesome and versatile gadgets you'll ever own.
Expensive; yes but as equally as amazing

I have the Ipod and have always been impressed with its capabilities. So when I thought about getting the Iphone, I had high expectations - especially considering all the hype that it's received - and I wasn't disappointed.I came off a Sony Ericcson X1, which is a brilliant phone and was seriously concerned the Iphone wouldn't match up. I was wrong. The Iphone is really a hand held computer that just happens to make calls.
The touch screen is very sensitive and takes some getting used to but as with everything, practice makes perfect.
You can download applications straight to the phone via the App Store (available straight from 'desktop') which is a great little extra (be careful of which apps you choose, well worth checking out the user reviews first).
The screen is clear and large, the search engine which comes with the phone (Safari) does the trick. Also the phone has this excellent feature of being able to zoom in and out on the screen when you're online simply by 'pinching' your fingers open and closed on the screen.
The music function is excellent in that you don't need earphones to listen, there's an inbuilt speaker in the phone itself. Another nice feature.
Messaging and email is a doddle - as is setting up the accounts and syncing your contacts and bookmarks in Itunes. Sim contacts are simply imported straight into the phone.
There are little things which all add up to making this phone a real pleasure (i.e., a 'weather' icon on the 'desktop' which gives you the temp and weather for your area (once you program it in) at the touch of a finger. Very handy indeed.
I'm sure there are points I've missed but all in all this phone really is worth the hype. Functionality aside, it 'looks' and 'feels' good, slim line and small enough not to be bulky yet sizeable enough to be a pleasure to work with.

Compared to the original iPhone these 3Gs iPhones are probably quicker but the screen appears to be of a much lower quality - you really notice when you compare the old one and the new one side by side - looking at the same photos the colours are washed out and blacks are grey compared to the old screen. Looking at black and white for text, it is clearly not as vibrant and there is a yellow shade to the whites. The battery life seems to last about 24 hours compared to around 3 days on my previous iPhone
There is cut and paste now apparently (wow), and a compass.
If you don't have an iPhone already you will be super impressed. If you are upgrading from an old iPhone you won't be impressed at all.
