Works great, only issue is that the only languages available are English and plenty of Asian languages, I'd have liked autocorrect in French and German, but it's easily changeable with an app. Great buy!

I was an owner of a HTC Desire which is almost 3 years old and also use my partner's iPhone 4S regularly. I will be trying to compare the HTC One X with these 2 models.

Pros :-
1) Internet browsing is as good as it was in HTC Desire. The text reflow feature is something I would miss in every other mobile(one of the biggest reasons for my staying with HTC).

2) Always liked the build quality of my HTC Desire and so, I like the quality of this one too.

3) Stock keyboard and phone app are good, in fact the best in the market.

4) Got the phone last wednesday and got the Jelly Bean update yesterday. Thats quite quick to get an Android upgrade.

5) Beats headset is quite good and comfortable to wear. More on that in the Cons(2).

Cons :-
1) Specs say storage of 16GB of 32GB with no provision of an SD Card. What it doesn't say is that only around 5.5GB of that is designated as internal memory(out of which 3.5GB is used by the OS) and the remaining 10.5 GB is designated as phone memory which is equivalent to having an SD Card. I never used another Android phone apart from HTC, so I am curious, does such a similar issue exist with other Android phones also? I also use an iPhone and in that one, all 16GB is one big chunk. Why does HTC skimp so much on internal memory?

2) I never liked the loudspeaker on my HTC Desire but I expected them to improve on that after releasing umpteen models in the last 3 years but the loudspeaker is equally crappy in the HTC One X. I find it cheap even when talking on the phone in a quiet room. As mentioned above, the sound quality improves dramatically when using the provided Beats Audio headset but still, it is not as good as other phones on the market. Suffice to say, if there is a group of people waiting for a phone and plan to use the loudspeaker so that everyone can listen in, don't volunteer your phone.

3) The specs say 1GB RAM but only about 250Mb is available for apps. It takes time for even the details of a person in the phone book to be displayed(took 2 sec). My phone is less than 5 days old, so I cannot imagine how it will be in the future. Overall, very poor memory management for a 1.5GHz quad core system with 1GB RAM.

4) This is my personal view but I don't understand how people like these ultra big screens. I like to operate the whole device using one hand but I had to go for this one because there was no other choice, no other manufacturer had the guts to go against the tide apart from Apple and I find them too expensive.

5) Inorder to unlock the phone, I need to first press the power button on top of the phone and then push a ring at the bottom of the phone, doing that on such a big screen seems really stupid to me. It might be changeable somewhere in the maze of settings but giving that as default doesn't leave that good a first impression.

6) In spite of using a HTC phone for so long, I cannot figure out where to look for something in the settings menu, but it has only been 5 days since I got the phone, so I will give them the benefit of doubt on this one.

Overall, I have begun to understand how HTC lost all the market share in the last few years since their last super hit phone HTC Desire was released in 2010. Apart from a few good features which thankfully no one thought of messing around with, there were lots of issues with the HTC Desire which were never resolved in the HTC One X.

One of the biggest reasons I bought this phone was because I got a really good deal on this one and the next reason was my familiarity with HTC. If you are planning to buy this phone and it is only marginally cheaper than it's competitors, then I would suggest against going with HTC.

For all intents and purposes the one X is a phone as competitive as the Galaxy S3 and Iphone 5 but without the same `status' and high price tag. Unlike most of the fad phone customers who buy phone products due to fashion & looks but do not even test 20% of the phones capabilities I extensively tested the One and can tell you where it excels and where it fails, especially if your deciding to buy a top market phone.
1) Screen- Screen is bright and vibrant but I did notice it was slightly second best against the the I5 and S3 in resolution sharpness and brightness, especially as the S3 has different brightness configuration where this is more limited. The difference although noticeable is tiny and the screen detail is as sharp as the HTC incredible.
2) OS- Is completely identical in everyway to the S3 and for me there is absolutely no difference. Ive always preferred android to IoS due to its more open system and config options.
3) Interface- For me just as responsive as the S3 and although it doesn't have the swipe technology it has its own unique touch screen features, HTC sense is also brilliant and gives you that nice vibration support as you type.
4) Processor- For me I found the power on the processor exactly the same as the S3 and better than the I5. I tested it on graphically demanding games such as Bard's tale and found that it handled everything except the busiest screens and smoke effects where there was slow down. Water effects handled much better here than the S3 for me.
5) Sound- For sound the one x is king, the beats boost not only makes sound louder but much clearer than any of its competitors and pairing the headphones with JVC extreme base or the Future sound lab Bluetooth headset has given me some of the best sounds I ve ever heard from a portable device.
6) Camera- One X also rules here, although you will need to tweek the camera to take clear non grainey pictures, the full hd multishot functions makes the one x fantastic. The Iphone comes close though with the high resolution and stretch photo.
7) Battery- The phones biggest weakness, it has a smaller battery life than I5 and far smaller than the S3. The battery simply cannot keep up with the functions it has and will last you about ¾ a day with medium to heavy use. Take a charger with you at all times, you have been warned.
8) Browser modem- Hidden gem for this phone. The wifi modem on this beauty is fastest Ive seen with exception of I5. I can wifi hotspot anywhere at an average of 10mbps, witch means I don't actually need a broadband package as I can run games online on my Xbox and pc with this. Streaming is also great.
9)Design- Better build than Samsung S3 which has a flimsy case and back. Usual sturdy HTC build. Only I5 is better in build quality.

For me the One X is the best Value top range phone around, and a great alternative to the big 2 market leaders.

This is probably the best looking phone I have ever see or used. It is remarkable how slim, smooth and good quality the phone is made of. Its fast, stylish and amazing. However tiny little issues put it down..
1. The battery life on this phone is appalling, it will struggle to last the whole day just using it normally without any games or web
2. It overheats really badly around the top of the phone just by using it for 2 mins.

HOWEVER THERE HAS BEEN A PATCH IN THE NEW SOFTWARE UPDATE FROM HTC WHICH FIXES ALL THESE PROBLEMS.
The phone now lasts hours longer and the overheating issue is completely gone,
So now the phone is exactly how it should be, fast, reliable, with huge space and gaming capabilities. Perfect for business and everything. I would really recommend this phone to anyone.

I was a little apprehensive at first, given the screen problems referred to in earlier reviews and the fact this was a used item from Amazon Warehouse. The phone works flawlessly with no screen issues at all.

Now onto the product itself. It is even slimmer than I was expecting. The screen is huge and so sharp graphically, I've never experienced anything quite like it. Mine has bulked slightly, as I threw on a case mate, tough case. In my job It's not really an option.

I'm loving the amazing quad core processor, which works impeccably with this version of Android and sense . Though I am looking forward to the upgrade to Jelly Bean.

Great deal for a great price. Was tempted by the Samsung Galaxy S3, but it's really no better and can't be had for this price.

I bought this second hand from Eco via Amazon and expected it to have had a factory reset, not still be full of personal photos, videos and downloaded images! It also only appears to have 9.85 GB of storage so they might have sold me the 16GB phone masquerading as the 32GB. It is only DUO core too, not the expected quad core, and being an ex AT&T model, required manually inputting the APN for mobile Internet access. It also arrived without a Micro USB cable - just one incorrect mini USB one! That apart it feels good to hold, and I get asked what phone it is, as it is noticeably different.

Am missing the familiar Call History app, but it plays videos well on our WI-FI, and understand the new Jelly Bean Android operating system has been released in Malaysia, so should be coming here soon. I love the combined photo and video function, but don't understand why the video starts recording as soon as the function is activated, instead of allowing me to select exactly when to record. Pressing the red button actually stops the recoding which is weird!
software updates, as a standard HTC One X should do, another downside of the AT & T version, which wasn't apparent when I ordered it. Amazon have been brilliant though, and offered to refund me had I wished. It apparently is on 4G LTE so if I don't lose it - like I did my 18 month old HTC Sensation last week, which completely vanished somewhere in the house - it should keep me happy for 2 or 3 years at least...

The longer I have it the smaller it seems to get, when I pick up my old HTC Desire (which is now used by my wife) it seems tiny.
Performance wise it does everything extremely well, then again I have only ever used HTC smartphones so I am not in a very good position to judge onemake from another.
For me the HTC ONE X is everything I want in a Phone a Camera a Sat-Nav and a video, in short, apart from wash the car there is not a lot it won't do.

1.0 out of 5 stars Worst customer service, 31 Oct 2012

This review is from: HTC One X 32GB Sim Free Smartphone - Grey (Wireless Phone Accessory)
HTC UK customer services is simply appalling. I had a One X for three days and then the wireless stopped working - this is a well-documented issue. Since then the phone has been back three times with the same fault. Each time HTC returned it with the issue not fixed and easily replicated. So I wonder if any technicians ever looked at it.
Now they have shipped a new handset but to my home address whilst I am away for two weeks - with nobody to sign for it. I phoned them twice and told them, noted on the repair sheet packet with the faulty handset and emailed them - all not to ship it back to me until they confirm the delivery address. HTC ignored all my communications and shipped the new phone but now it appears an unknown person in my street have taken delivery of the device.
When I called to complain HTC UK customer services put me through to their "senior manager", someone called Jamie. Jamie would not give me his last name, stating "privacy reasons".
He bluntly told me that it is not their problem and that in any event I should have given them five days' notice of the new shipping address. This is despite the fact that they have only had the phone about two days before deciding to replace it, despite the fact that I asked them when I arranged the return of the faulty phone to confirm a shipping address with me, despite the fact that I emailed then before it was even shipped and despite that fact that I called them twice to confirm they would not ship it until I confirmed an address.
This was my third HTC and my last. And they wonder why their relative market share is declining.

Update to the review - I now have a replacement One X which HTC sent me. Whilst I am not sure but the phone does not look new as it was covered in the same plastic HTC used to wrap the phone in on the previous phone returns. It might be another "repaired" phone they have sent me. But the main issue is that this phone still does not have working wifi - exactly the same issue as my previous One X. At this point I am going to see if I can get a refund and will likely get a Motorola RAZR i as replacement.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent phone, 30 Oct 2012

I have owned this phone for a couple of months now, and I
personally think its the best phone on the market. Don't let
the size of it put you off, the slimness and light weight
make up for it, and the benefits of having the large screen
are huge.

The screen resolutions and colour are excellent, better than
the darker image of the darker grainy image of the s3. Nice
and bright in light conditions, much better than my previous
phone, HTC desire in this department.

Lightening fast, not experienced any of the problems, such as
poor battery, that other people have mentioned. I get two
days of moderate use between charges. Obviously, heavy
gamers, video watchers won't get this. But day to day use is
fine. Initially I had some minor screen flicker using
certain apps, particularly play store, but this dems to have
gone with the latest update.

HTC sense is what also makes this phone, if you like
modifying appearence, and weather, you will love this phone.
Beats audio is a welcome addition, with some half
decent in ear headphones, really makes a difference. Camera
is pretty decent, quality of images not quite up to dig
camara quality, colours often a bit over saturated, but for
ease of use and quick access and image taking, its
excellent.

Not really concerned about lack of sd card slot as 32gb
internal memory is plenty. Especially with cloud computing
becoming more prevalent. Just installed amazon cloud allowing
access to all of my music from anywhere with 3g signal.

Only minor problem I can think of is that the camera lense
protrudes a bit, and white model (whick is a lot more
distinctive in my opinion) will pick up marks fairly easily,
if kept in pocket. Got the thin black case off amazon
which is excellent as adds a bit of grip and protection, but
barely any extra bulk for a couple of quid.

Nonetheless, build quality of the phone is excellent, nice
and solid and screen fairly tough. Got rid of screen
protecter as it took away from the excellent screen and the
glass is scratch resistant and not gained any scratches yet
in my case. Watch the videos on you tube of key scratching
and see what you think.

All in all, this is an awesome phone and easily a match for
the sgs3, and better in my opinion due to HTC sense and beats
audio. It's a shame that it doesnt appear to be getting such
a good press as the other phones. At a slightly cheaper
price, go buy it!
