This is the best phone I have ever bought and I have had a few. The qwerty keyboard has larger buttons so is ideal for somebody that has chubby fingers. Every thing about the phone is great. Can't go wrong with Samsung any way.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't touch it with your network!!!, 18 May 2012

My wife bought this phone last year as a replacement for her Sony slider. What a mistake!!!! For an entire year the phone has not worked properly. Sadly we'd bought it. The number are too small to see and use properly. The screen resolution is highly pixelated which is a very poor quality compared with other Samsung products. The network connection never worked properly on wifi and phone network. It continually switched itself off. Today to my wife's great joy, we upgraded to the HTC One X and what a phone. My wife has used it straight off. If you want a touchscreen with a keyboard, buy the HTC Cha Cha, better quality and screen. Sorry Samsung a real boo boo.

Good phone for the price, but there are better out there. the buttons are too tight together, not quite as easy to use as a blackberry. Screen resolution isnt very great either. and battery life poor.
having said that, its a good basic android device.

Wide enough and easy to use this smart phone. The buttons are big enough. The Display is as wide to read your emails and sms. The Froyo is easy to use

I have owned this phone long enough to know it's worth in the market place.
It is a fantastic phone, forget all your Blackdoodah's, HTwhatevers and your icanseeclearlynow's this phone does it all.
Staying in touch with the outside world is a breeze with this phone, social networking at it's best.
This phone is a world beater untill you unplug it from the charging socket that is. After that the thing falls from grace and reaches terminal velocity very quickly, screaming and burning into oblivion in very quick time.
The battery power on this phone is usless, imagine sitting on the bus or in the back of a taxi, the phone comes out and the games or flicking through files begin, we all do it.
On this phone after 15 minutes or so the battery starts to indicate low power, oh! no you say and turn off all applications that are not required, turn down screen brightness, even watch the movie Apollo 13 for some energy saving tips. You will only put off the inevitable by another 30 minutes at best.
The talk time is nowhere near the stated 7-11 hours it's more like 1 hour, even if you talk slowly and at a whisper!
Samsung have produced a great phone here only to ruin it with a tiny capacity battery. If you don't mind carrying a charging lead with you all the time or wearing a solar panel on your head then this phone is for you, otherwise get something else to keep you amused in the traffic jam.

My main issue is that if you use the device keyboard / built in keyboard there is no spell checker. To call it a professional phone and not be able to spell check your emails / text as you write is quite frankly `unforgivable'. It is not that it does not have a built in dictionary, it does, it is linked to the touch screen keyboard - which defeats the point of having a built in keyboard plus it takes too much room on the screen, is very small and fiddly!

Kies (Samsung software that links your phone with mobile) is a disaster, when I spoke to Samsung about the above, I mentioned this and was told that 90% of their support phone calls were about Kies not working.

I wanted to love this phone, it is my first Samsung, it will be my last. I shall be returning to HTC.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great phone, 27 May 2011

I got this phone to keep in touch with my business email, and do some social networking on the side. Set up was really easy, the email and calendar application work very well, basically I live in those, the combo of keyboard and touch screen is really nice.

I've downloaded the native apps for Twitter and Facebook and they work absolutely brilliantly on this phone, nice surprise, really happy with that.

The highlight for me has been the keyboard which is, I'd say, the best I have had on this class of phone.

The other thing I found was that compared to my old iPhone, this one gets great reception and stays on the mission when the signal in an area is bad. Battery is OK to good, lasts a couple of days between charges, and I am a heavy user. The phone supports remote admin, so my company was able to lock down the security.

So, it is doing exactly what I need it for, at the right price point and I am really pleased with it. For my money, Blackberry is no longer an obvious choice for business users.

Things to think about: the screen is half the size of a regular 'droid phone, and doesnt have two fingered input. Not needed by me, but you might miss it. The camera is adequate but this is not a camera with a phone built in.

Overall: for the business user, this phone is perfect, and at a decent price point.
