Product Overview
iPhone 3GS. Now with even more to love
Keep applications open in the background. Organise your apps with folders. Shop for books in the iBookstore. The 8GB iPhone 3GS takes advantage of all the great features of iOS 4.
Multitasking
Now you can run your favourite third-party apps - and switch between them instantly - without slowing down the performance of the foreground app or draining the battery unnecessarily. So you can listen to a football game while emailing. Or receive a VoIP call while playing a game. You can also drag and drop to organise apps into folders on your Home screens and get fast access to your favourites.
iBooks
More than a full-colour ebook reader, iBooks is also an amazing place to browse and shop for books anytime you feel like it. It works with PDFs that you can sync using iTunes on your Mac or PC. And you can customise iBooks to suit the way you read - adjust the brightness, change the text size and more.
Phone
On iPhone, making a call is as simple as tapping a name or number. And Visual Voicemail lets you play messages in any order - just like email.
I also have an iPad and an iPod, both of which will connect to WiFi connections easily in any of the above circumstances so I don't believe it's my WiFi that's the problem.

far better than anyone else in the families fone!
The only thing I can say against this genius device is the fact it now has 2 younger siblings who have without doubt taking global communications to another level with facetime, soon to be available over the 3G network via the iPhone 4, 4s & the 'new iPhone' due late September. Love it or hate it, the iPhone is the global leader in innovation & technology. As the saying goes, 'immitation is a form of flattery' & it is abundantly clear the manaufacturers currently bitting at Apples heels copying its tech.
For those who are not so savvy or bothered too much about facetime - the 3Gs is the handset to have. Definately a 5 star rating hands down. Luckily for you I have one to sell at a fantastic low price in immaculate condition...
I've bought and sold my 3gs now but feel obliged to share my experience with it.
Lets start with the good bits.
-The iphone has just about everything you could want on it. Apps are widely available and there's an app for just about anything.
-The iphone is very user friendly; it's easy to work even if you are a technophobe.
-The touchscreen is superb, even if you have fairly chubby fingers like myself.
The iphone is great at what it does but this is where the main problem lies.
Because the iphone is loaded with apps, a camera etc. the battery life is shockingly bad, even if you just have it switched on and don't use it, you will be lucky to get 16 hours standby time, that figure is critically reduced if you browse the web or call out. If you use your mobile alot for texting and calling you wont get more than 5 hours out of the iphone and you cant just stick a new battery in because its built in. What you are left with is a mobile phone that isn't mobile because you have to charge it twice a day this kinda defeats the point of having a MOBILE phone.
Overall the iphone is a fantastic phone but is fundamentally bad as the battery life is simply unacceptable, if you want a mobile phone for calling, texting and browsing web I recommend you buy samsung's galaxy s (just like iphone but better battery life and faster), if you want a cool gadget that does just about everything, buy an Ipad. In all honesty, the Iphone is a bit pointless you would be better off buying a different phone and an Ipad. Battery life is the only real downside to this phone but its such a big issue that it can't be ignored. Also the ringtones are annoying lol.
My rating: 68% (Would have been in the 90s if it weren't for the atrocious battery life)
Reliability: 9/10 (just don't go too far from mains electricity)
Thanks for reading :-)

Problems? The phone seems to move on it's own. I put it on the worktop in the kitchen and then it turns up in the lounge. The kids say they don't know why, although I also notice the high scores on the games are much higher than before.

As others here have noted, this isn't a perfect phone: battery life is poor, the camera, although improved and now supporting video, is far from best in class.
Where the iPhone scores, though, is in integrating itself into your every day life. I used Blackberries and Smartphones for years before the iPhone, and it was never something I did for pleasure. Taking the Blackberry beyond its comfort zone (as an excellent text only email device) or trying to do ANYTHING on the Orbit wasn't something you'd do for fun. With the iPhone, fun comes built in.
For ripping off consumers the Iphone gets a thoroughly deserved 1 star.
