I bought this mobile for my 15 year old son for Christmas. I already had a sim only contract for him, and so wanted a sim free smart phone for him. I did a lot of research on various sites as I wanted a basic smartphone for him that was reliable, neat, and easy to use. This fits the bill perfectly, but has so many functions on it that it has exceeded expectations! It's an excellent smartphone and reasonably priced too. I certainly wasn't going to fork out hundreds of pounds just for a mobile phone, when this is perfect for my son. Highly recommended. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful

I have been using this phone since more than six months and am quite happy with it. It has everything that an average smartphone user could ask for. The only disappointing factor is that Skype video-calling does not work on this particular model. I tried uninstalling and installing the software(skyp) many times but the problem still persists. Except that the phone has fabulous features, specially the networking, socialising and syncing is great!!! 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful

I have been searching for a mobile phone that I can use, one that has all the facilities that I consider essential, voice, text, e-mail and a camera, but most importantly this mobile phone enables me to see a clear font when reading a text, you see, I have AMD (Age related Macular Degeneration) l have a problem seeing fine detail, so I am happy to have found this particular mobile phone, it has all the other apps, calender, calculator RM radio and a very nice memo facility, yes, at last technology is catching up. 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful

My impressions are mainly positive. It's an attractive phone that works in all the ways expected. If you've troubled to expand the technical details, you'll see the promise of a 2 GB SD card 'in box' (at time of writing this review). But be aware that that is not now supplied by Samsung -- reviews iI've read suggest it once was -- and that without an SD card certain functions (eg the camera) will not work. One other deficiency is an instruction sheet or booklet that deserves the name. What is supplied is utterly inadequate for a user (like me) who has until now made do with a 'dumb' phone. Perhaps there aren't many such people left in the world, so this may not trouble others already familiar with the workings of a 'smart' phone. 3 of 3 people found the following review helpful

I agonised for ages about parting with my hard-earned money to buy this modestly-priced phone. Did I really want to be getting a smart phone at all?I'm now really glad that I did.
The thing I love about it most of all I suppose would apply to any smartphone running Android. It synchs with my Gmail and Google Calendar and I can even get my Google docs on it.
As I run my business and most of my life with Google stuff this makes the phone a fantastic addition to my life. I now need to just keep one calendar and one address book and everything synchs with everything else. Of course, it also has the alarm function. One thing I would love is a countdown timer for parking etc. There's probably an app for it somewhere.
I also use the camera to take pics of business cards, notes etc. So I can scribble something down on a bit of paper, my whiteboard or boogie board and snap it. Instant access to info!
Personally I found it a little difficult to get on with the capacitive screen. I solved that by buying a couple of inexpensive stylii (from Amazon) and they have made my life much easier.
The build quality is excellent and it feels good in the hand.
It's made a big difference to the way I organise my life. I wish I hadn't prevaricated quite so long before buying it.

Not as high tech as its big brother the Ace, S and SII. But for a basic android phone this is pretty good. Better than the Galaxy Mini and other brands like the HTC wildfire and Sony Ericsson x10mini.It runs Gingerbread, fairly smooth and good touch screen. Internal memory is low and you'll need buy a MicroSD (2gig should be enough for basic users). Screen resolution is a bit low but what do you expect for a cheaper phone. The camera is decent plus with autofocus is right treat for budget smart phone. wifi and gps can't be faulted.
It feels good to hold and not very bulky with curved edges fit just right in the hand. As a basic touch screen and android its perfect for novices to get use to. Battery life is good for smartphones doing 2 days of moderate use between charges.
if your new to android/smart phones and touch screen this is the phone for you.
Update : 22/02/13 Obviously there's been a few more android phones on the market recently, but this phone is still running good. Been dropped a few times by my wife and baby and its survived. I have however rooted and re-flashed the rom of the phone (check XDA forums) so its running even faster and smoother. But to do this you need to be a tech-savy.

i really like this phone. I wasn't expecting too much as it was pretty much the cheapest android phone that I could find. I saw a review on youtube so I already knew the one downside which was that the screen resolution is not that high. Basically that means that its not brilliant for viewing webpages. You have to zoom in quite far to be able to read the text but the plus side of having a screen with less pixels is better battery life. The battery life is not great, probably 2 days maybe but I do have absolutely terrible reception where I am, I mean its so bad that I have to move around the room to get a signal, so in fact two days is probably not too bad. I tried it on flight mode and the battery lasted on full bars for 3 days without going down at all so I think that proves its the reception.Beware of the screen, it scratches easily. I ordered a case for it but it never arrived and there are a few scratches after a few weeks but then I do live on a farm. And I put it in a pocket which had metal screw in.
The camera is brilliant. I've never had a phone which had a camera which has auto focus but it definitely takes good pictures.
The keyboard is annoying as the enter key is too near the others so I always end up sending half a message, I don't know whether this is a generic thing with the android keyboard or with this phone as I've never actually used any other android phone. Apart from that the swipe is pretty good, it means you dont have to hit the keys exactly right and it can guess the word you are typing.
The software is great. I've installed skype which works brilliantly and a few apps for messaging. Trillian was the one that I found was best and could log into my msn and gmail chat.
The charger is micro usb which means there are a lot of charging options.
All in all a good cheap phone.
