Finally on the send off for my nokia N8, the phone has been running great but it's time for a change.This phone has some fantastic features:
- Nokia build quality (survived MANY drops unharmed)
- Great camera
- Great navigation (free world wide maps)
- Great music player with a really nice UI
- Great speaker quality and sound quality through the 3.5mm jack
- Descent browser
- Good battery life
- Great selection of widgets and themes available
- Great call quality
- Descent UI (speed)
It really is a great phone for the average user, and I would recommend it.
Things that you really should be aware of though:
- This is an old phone and as such the app store is starting to die out (as is symbian).
- The phone is old so browser speed isn't that great especially on heavy flash websites. That being said it does support flash, which is becoming very rare.
- Occasional random crashes do happen and as it's a dying OS likely won't be fixed (it's rare but expect at least 1 a fortnight)
With the recent update to BELLE, this phone became a fantastic device and I really do love it. If you are an average user who doesn't expect everything to load instantly, a nokia fan and take your time navigating the device then you'll love this.
I would maybe consider looking at some of nokias more recent lumia phones before buying this though..

I have a Nokia N8 and it is the best phone iv had,it has a 14GB memory and 12mega pixel camera its second to none. I bought a Nokia N8 in March 2011 because it had rave reveiws and in my case had a 12mp camera and lenz by Carl Zeuss, at first great then I remember it was the day of the royal wedding which i guess was april 2011 it suddenly for no reason just locked up,I took it to my mobile phone shop who showed me how to unlock it,you needed to be an octopus. This has happened several times since,it even went back to my phone supplier who just did a factory reset,wow.In fairness the phone is fab but just somtehing that no body can quite grasp is wrong,maybe the new Lumia will be better. I'd give them a chance,well I am I am and going to get a Lumia. Am I stupid ? well dont answer that.

The phone arived with some cables missing but mostly it seemed in good order, apart from the instruction booklet which was in some oriental script. Now here's the down side a big selling point of the N8 is it's 12 mega pixal camara, which on this phone doesn't work. Next step try to get it fixed, after countless phone calls to Nokia and various repair centers I get told that my phone is a Hong Kong import and as such can't be fixed in this country. Own it for near two years and not going to exchange it while it's working and it is! perfect 12Mpix Camera with real camera flash(not LEDs), HD video camcorder, plenty of apps, Nokia Maps GPS SatNav. My wife got this phone as a package. She has just given up on it as it so difficult to understand and has gone back to her old phone. I am pretty computer literate and phone savvy but even with the downloaded instruction book I can't work out how to use the basic function like calls, contacts, messaging etc. Going back to the shop where it was bought the sales people weren't any better than I was and couldn't tell me what I was doing wrongMy advice, don't even consider it
