All samsung phones feel cheap and this is no different, very cheap and nasty..I would certainly spend a bit more to get something worth having.

I decided I did not want to carry round over £300 of phone in my pocket. So I settled for a md price range phone. Very happy with the phone. Does all I need a phone for. 1 of 4 people found the following review helpful

Even though it is described as dark blue and on the box it says dark blue. When opened it is definately black. It dos'nt bother me too much because I have bought a case to protect it if dropped and that is purple. So the back of the phone is not visible. The box was sealed so it must be a problem at packing, but if you definately want dark blue it would be a problem. 3 of 7 people found the following review helpful

We all look for different things when buying a mobile phone. Some of us want something that they can show off to their friends, something with a million features they will never use which could probably put on a firework show if you knew how. Others just want to be able to text and call people. Unfortunately, I am one of the latter and thus am no longer catered for by the mobile phone manufacturers, a series of almost universally awful multinationals which have learned how to hold the global public to ransom by telling us we need all sorts of useless stuff which becomes increasingly complex and (most importantly) expensive by the day.To call this phone a piece of junk would be unfair; it is most probably an intelligently created artwork, intended as a meditation on postmodern capitalism, consumer culture and how we have all sold our lives to big companies. It must be, as I find it impossible to believe this artefact was designed as a functioning phone.
After ten minutes of wrangling, wrestling and almost tearing my hair out to the point of premature baldness I finally got the battery in, only to find that I was unable to use the touchscreen display as I am a human adult and thus do not have fingertips the size of pins. I summoned the assistance of a small wand, hoping it could magically turn the phone into something useful but alas I was mistaken. The phone has many features but unfortunately, it is not packaged with a proper manual to explain what most of them are. As a good guesser, I will assume most of them are ways of extorting more money out of the people who have already forked out to get the phone.
A trip to the settings turned into a disturbing trip into a society where even your location is up for grabs. I was told the phone had some GPS feature to locate me for some reason. While I am not paranoid or narcissistic enough to think anyone would give enough of a fig to bother doing this (if they could access this information), it is rather bizarre to find out your phone can do this - another unnecessary feature which somehow manages to tap into a culture of paranoia of spying and paranoid spying.
More presciently, I thought I would test it out by sending a text message (a surprisingly difficult task when you are having to do this with a stylus). When I got the reply, it came immediately beneath my original in some sort of bizarre parody of an old-school instant messaging conversation, creating a hideous visual style and a potentially very confusing situation when texting several people. Some research told me this feature couldn't be changed. Despairing and defeated, I turned the phone off, slid my SIM card back into my old model and didn't look back. When the courier comes to take it back to the manufacturer, I will breathe a sigh of relief to have got this evil talisman taken out of my house for good.
If you are an actual person with a working brain who is not a Mensa member with freakishly small fingers, please do not buy this phone as you will be so disappointed you may lose any pre-existing faith in humanity you have.

Have to say I absolutely love this phone. It's nice and light, fits comfortably in your hand and looks great. I haven't got an sd card for it yet, but it seems to have lots of storage. Camera is good and delighted it has a flash. It's simple to use and it works well for anything I want to use it for, internet, games, texts ect. Love the fact it came with Swype too. Great delivery from Amazon too by the way, nice and quick! Would recommend this phone to anyone, brilliant phone for the price 37 of 60 people found the following review helpful

To be honest, if I'd paid for my Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus, I would be well put out. Lucky for me it came free with my tariff. It sings, dances, make dinner for you - but how simple is it to make or answer calls? Don't even ask . . . . Making a call isn't too bad, but answering them - well, it took me a long time, and several calls to my mobile from my home landline before I got the hang of it! You can't simply press/tap on the green ringing symbol, that would be far too simple! You're supposed to DRAG, that's right, DRAG the green phone symbol to any place outside the circle it lives in . . . . And try doing that if you've got slightly damp fingers while you're out in the pouring rain . . . .As for texts - well, you can send them all right (apart from the fact that in the tradition of mobiles, the "keys" are sized for a child's fingers - I had to buy a stylus) but when it comes to receiving replies to your texts, it goes haywire. It turns out that your texts are actually sent as picture messages (WHY???) and the replies come back as picture messages. Which is great, only be aware that you actually have to set up picture messaging, it doesn't come as built in. Yet another thing to do on your never ending list . . . .
Seems to me that the nice people at Samsung have put a very great deal of time and effort into making life as difficult as possible . . . .
Oh, and another thing to be aware of, and this is IMPORTANT! If you set up your Gmail account to be accessed on your Android (you have to go in through your regular laptop/PC to do it) YOU ARE PERMANENTLY SIGNED IN on your phone! That means that anyone could look into your email account, unless you set up your phone to have a PIN to unlock it. Then, you have to fiddle about trying to enter your PIN before you can answer a call . . . .
All in all, I think Samsung have over reached themselves, and I long for good old fashioned phones that simply make and receive calls, send and receive texts, end of. Don't think it will be long before I change back . . . .

This is my first venture into owning a touch screen phone.I was unsure whether to buy the Samsung S2 or the Ace plus? Ultimately it came down to price. Also when feeling the S2 in my hand it felt too big. So on that basis I opted for the Ace plus. I first bought this item a month back from Amazon. Sad to say it could do everything except make or receive a phone call......So within the month I sent it back. To their credit Amazon refunded the price plus p&p quickly and without any problems.I was unsure whether to buy this model again or buy a different model. The deciding factor was the price and that the camera has a flash, so I decided to purchase the Ace plus again. This time everything works as indicated AND I CAN NOW MAKE AND RECEIVE PHONE CALLS. What are my niggles? My one 'major' niggle is that you cannot see the screen in direct sunlight. The screen quality (pixels) is the major bug bear. Other minor niggles are that the product does not come with ear pieces and the manual only reveals the basics. Apart from that I'm pretty pleased for the price.Would I buy again? If I had a little more money to spare i might invest in a phone with a better screen.Otherwise I'm ok with this phone. 41 of 76 people found the following review helpful
1.0 out of 5 stars Poor Amazon Customer Services on faulty 2 month old phone, 30 May 2012

Very disappointed with Amazon Customer Service. After less than 2 months the phone would not charge on the mains plug, but only the USB wire off PC. I rang CS and spoke to Ashish. He tried to fob me off by advising me to ring Samsung. I pointed out Consumer Law stipulated that it was the seller, not the manufacturer, who was responsible for a replacement or refund within the first 6 months. He eventually agreed to replace the phone, but I was very shocked by the hassle involved. I shall think carefully before ordering from Amazon again!
